The 1600 ha property boasts a 42km network of professionally laid out trails that passes through 5 eco-zones. Trails

New Mountain Route:

The new mountain trail offers a different view and perspective of beautiful Velorenkloof. The route has two main parts of which you can choose from. On your walk keep a look out for the ruins as you first encounter the forest. A mere 100 meters from the ruins is a view of the Crocodile Waterfall. The routes offers some of the most breath taking landscapes and views.

  • Duration: 1-3 Hours.
  • Difficulty: Easy to Medium Towards the Top.

Waterfall Walk:

The most popular pick of our trails, it is graded as an easy to medium difficulty. The falls offer a well-deserved rest and poses the option for a quick cool-down in the summer months. The trail offers a wide array of botany as well as history. Ruins are also present on this trail and are well worth looking at.

  • Duration: 1-3 Hours
  • Difficulty: Medium

UP Velorenkloof to Fernkloof:

A typical afromane forest with some of the most beautiful views, this is the most popular route to reach the summit of the mountain, steep at some section s this is the shortest route to reach the Fermkloof hut. Waterfall views and forest walks are embodied by this hike and is a needle in a haystack.

  • Duration: 3-4 Hours
  • Difficulty: Challenging

Leon se Voethuewels:

This path consists of footpaths which run all alongside the mountain on the mist belt. This route has some interesting fauna with mediacal applications such as the barks found from the assegai tree.

  • Distance: 6-7km
  • Duration: 2-3 Hours
  • Difficulty: Easy

Ou Dullstroom Voetpad:

The steepest of the descents, but very rewarding if find the Klipspringers. with many agapantha species to view. This trail boasts an impressive archaeological site

  • Distance: 3.06km
  • Duration: 2-3 Hours
  • Difficulty: Challenging

Ou Dullstroom Voetpad:

This trail takes you through a dark and mysterious forest, up onto the escarpment and toward the airplane wreck and Fernkloof overnight hut. Among the forest scenery, a stream runs down the kloof and many hidden waterfalls can be seen.

  • Distance: 2.15km
  • Duration: 2-3 Hours
  • Difficulty: Medium to Challenging at the End.
